The business had a plan to digitally transform Nectar. They wanted encourage its customers to spend more outside Sainsbury’s by receiving better offers from its other partners. As part of this plan they wanted to completely redesign the Website and App within 8 months.
To facilitate this change the engineering teams moved to a fully agile process, where design was integrated into the process within each sprint we had toe design, test and iterate ready for the engineers to pick up in the next sprint. At the end of each sprint we had to present what had been achieved to stakeholders.
Creating a digital style
The project was a chance to revisit the existing brand guidelines and create something was is more digitally focused. I looked at minimizing the colors to create a visual language, that was consistent and that followed accessibility guidelines.
The iOS app went from 1.5 to 4.5 stars in the App Store. It was a record year of collecting and redeeming points for Nectar.
