Knowledge Bomb #12: Do the thing
Don't overthink it. Just do the thing. I've spent so much of my life overthinking and sitting on ideas. I've found that I do best when I just go for it and trust that I will figure it out. It's never too late to start again or to switch to a different area or to even switch back, if you wish. The worst you can do is sit on a long-held desire. So one more for the people in the back. Do the thing.
Fear keeps us stagnant, convincing us we need perfect conditions or complete certainty before we act. But here's what I've learned: clarity comes through action, not contemplation. The projects I'm most proud of began with imperfect starts and uncertain outcomes. Each time I've pushed past the paralysis of overthinking, I've discovered resources within myself I didn't know existed. Your brain will always find reasons to wait ā for more information, for better timing, for permission. Break this cycle by setting small, immediate actions you can take today. Start the sketch, send the email, have the conversation. The momentum from these tiny steps builds into the courage needed for bigger leaps. Remember, future you will thank present you not for what you perfectly planned, but for what you actually began.
